Benefits of the Cloud Computing

What a new buzz word has been invented recently, the Cloud. I am not talking about clouds above us, I am talking about the cloud computing. The cloud computing is nothing new but a synonym for the Internet (which perhaps was invented by the vice president Gore). We have been using the internet for a long time and did not realize we are using the cloud already.

What are the main benefits of Cloud Computing:

1. Saving time and money

2. Availability

3. Efficiency and Flexibility

4. Cost effectiveness

There are a few major players on the US market at this time that can provide you serious solutions and they are:

- Microsoft

- IBM

- Google

In my next post I will describe benefits in more details

Mozy to Offer Online Backup for iOS

Mozy, a leading online backup service provider is working on developing mobile applications for the iOS and Android platforms which will allow users to access backed-up files from their smart phones or tablets.

In addition to announcing its mobile app plans, Mozy is looking for beta testers for a new feature that will synchronize files across all of a user’s computers. The Mozy Sync feature will put a single Mozy folder on each computer; any files placed in the folder are available and up-to-date between all computers running Mozy’s sync service. The feature will give users access to their files, no matter what computer they’re using.

Google Android Leads the Smartphone Race

Google Android is a big winner of a smart phone race. Officially as of January 2011, Google Android operating system is being used by 31.2% of the market, BlackBerry – 30,4%, Apple – 24.7%, Microsoft – 8.0% and Palm – 3.2%.

My prediction is that in a couple of months Apple market share may be getting much closer to Google considering that now Verizon distributes iPhone on its network.

What robot Cloud can Bring us in the Near Future?

Are we ready for the cloud communicating smart robots?
According to Google researches, cloud computing could make robots smaller, cheaper and smarter. I am not surprised Google is investing in this technology area (What Google is not investing in?).

The cloud computing is growing and will be only becoming bigger and bigger. The cloud utilization may bring lots of benefits to us as a human race. However, it might bring a few really bad things as well. We are all watching movies and predictions of smart machines taking over the humanity on the planet in the unforeseeable future does not seem so unrealistic after all.
